Step-by-step workflow

1

Note Which Service is Due

CHECK

The display will show either 'Service Schedule A' or 'Service Schedule B'. Each requires different tasks and parts. Review your owner's manual for the specific checklist.

Service A (Annual / ~100 hours): Oil and filter change, air filter inspect/replace, battery check, spark plug inspection, visual overall inspection. Service B (2-Year / 200 hours): All Service A items PLUS spark plug replacement, fuel filter replacement, coolant check (liquid-cooled), full load test, control board inspection.

Schedule Professional Service

ACTION

While some service tasks can be owner-performed, having a certified Generac technician perform service ensures all items are addressed, parts are correct, and the service record is maintained for warranty purposes.

A&A Power Generators offers scheduled maintenance visits for all Generac models. Our technicians bring all required parts and perform a complete service to factory spec. 📞 +1-888-991-6933 | aapower.com/open-view-ticket/
3

Perform or Schedule Oil & Filter Change

ACTION

Oil change is the most critical service item. Degraded oil cannot protect engine bearings and causes premature wear.

Drain old oil when engine is warm. Replace oil filter. Refill with correct specification oil (check owner's manual). Generac air-cooled: typically SAE 5W-30 full synthetic or conventional. Dispose of old oil properly at a recycling center.
4

Reset the Service Interval Counter

RESET

After service is complete, the service warning must be reset in the controller to restart the interval timer.

Evolution Controller: Press and hold the OFF button for 5 seconds to access the service reset menu. Nexus Controller: Navigate to the Maintenance menu and select Reset Service. See your owner's manual or ask your A&A Power Generators technician to reset the counter during service.

After reset

Did the code clear?

Yes — code cleared

The code cleared and the unit returned to standby. Log the incident, confirm ready-to-run status, and monitor the next exercise cycle.

No — code returned

If the code returns immediately, stop resetting and move into service. The issue likely needs inspection of wiring, switches, or a controller-level component.
