Step-by-step workflow
The display will show either 'Service Schedule A' or 'Service Schedule B'. Each requires different tasks and parts. Review your owner's manual for the specific checklist.
While some service tasks can be owner-performed, having a certified Generac technician perform service ensures all items are addressed, parts are correct, and the service record is maintained for warranty purposes.
Oil change is the most critical service item. Degraded oil cannot protect engine bearings and causes premature wear.
After service is complete, the service warning must be reset in the controller to restart the interval timer.
After reset
The code cleared and the unit returned to standby. Log the incident, confirm ready-to-run status, and monitor the next exercise cycle.
If the code returns immediately, stop resetting and move into service. The issue likely needs inspection of wiring, switches, or a controller-level component.
Prevention
Book your annual service appointment each spring before storm season begins — don't wait for the warning to appear.
An A&A Power Generators maintenance plan means we track your service intervals and schedule visits automatically. +1-888-991-6933
Record every service date, oil change, and part replacement. This history is invaluable for diagnosing future issues.
Every service visit should include a battery voltage and load test. Replace if over 4 years old.
Annual service is the right time to inspect fuel lines, solenoid, and regulator — especially for propane units.
Generac Mobile Link notifies you when service is due so you never miss an interval.
Let A&A Power Generators handle all preventative maintenance for your generator.
