Step-by-step workflow
Note what the PZ410 Alarm Screen shows: Service Schedule A, Service Schedule B, or Battery Maint Due. Each has different tasks.
While some basic tasks can be owner-performed, having A&A Power Generators perform service ensures all items are addressed, the correct parts are used, and the PZ410 service interval counter is properly reset.
Key service tasks for XG series with PZ410: oil and filter change, air filter replacement, spark plug inspection/replacement, coolant level and condition check, drive belt inspection, battery voltage and load test, all harness connector cleaning and reseating.
After service is complete, the maintenance interval counter in the PZ410 must be reset. This requires dealer credentials (Dealer Screen access).
After reset
The code cleared and the unit returned to standby. Log the incident, confirm ready-to-run status, and monitor the next exercise cycle.
If the code returns immediately, stop resetting and move into service. The issue likely needs inspection of wiring, switches, or a controller-level component.
Prevention
Schedule your XG annual service before hurricane season begins — don't wait for the reminder.
An A&A Power Generators maintenance plan means we track your PZ410 service intervals and schedule automatically. 888-991-4500
Info Screen → Maintenance Log shows all service history. Review it to understand your unit's service record.
When Battery Maint Due appears and the battery is over 4 years old, replace it — don't just inspect.
Annual service on PZ410 units should always include cleaning and reseating all major harness connectors — vibration is constant on these generators.
Generac Mobile Link notifies you when service is due so no interval is missed.
Let A&A Power Generators handle all preventative maintenance for your Generac XG/Protector generator.
Still need help?
